Module Description: International Banking 2

In this Semester 2 module students learn about central banking, the interaction of banks with the central bank and with the wider economy. Students will be familiarized with the fundamental and central role that banks and the monetary system plays in driving economic growth, prosperity as well as promoting financial stability. Students will also be familiarized with other emergent topics in macroeconomics and the implications for the banking system such as the recurring banking crises, the degrowth economic movement as well as the changes in the monetary system with the rise of central bank digital currencies (CBDCs).
