Instructor: Dr Plamen Ivanov
In this module students will be famiarized with two strings of (overlapping) economics research streams – economic geographers and post-Keynesianism. Students will be familiarized with the geography of financial institutions across space and time. In addition, they will examine the relationships between the financial sector and the real economy in different parts of the world as well as the financial architecture of economies. Moreover, students will be familiarized with the wider “hierarchy of liabilities” to make sense of the economic challenges posed to economists and policy-makers in developed and developing countries.
