Vision of the Association for Research on Banking and the Economy (ARBE)
The Association for Research on Banking and the Economy (ARBE) is dedicated to advancing the understanding of the critical link between entrepreneurship, SME financing, and the socio-economic advancement of humanity through rigorous empirical research. Our mission is to uncover and promote insights that drive sustainable economic growth, foster innovation, and reduce inequality by enabling access to finance for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), which serve as the engines of development in both local and global economies.
Under the leadership of Convenor Prof. Dr. Richard Werner, renowned for devising the pioneering monetary policy tool of Quantitative Easing in Japan in the late 1990s, ARBE employs cutting-edge economic theories to examine the evolving dynamics between banking systems and entrepreneurial growth. Our research draws on deep empirical analysis and is consistently published in leading peer-reviewed academic journals, contributing to the forefront of global economic thought.
Through our work, we aim to influence policy, guide financial institutions, and shape a more inclusive economic future where entrepreneurship and access to finance are key drivers of social and economic progress for all.
